I'm mostly implementing and productionizing it alongside a brilliant neuroscientist/mathematician (under the guidance of extremely well known compneuro and CS people, our SAB is insane), I can barely muddle through the underlying math of it all. But once we come out of stealth I'll be running my yap

Dopamine ≠ reward but turns out, also not the learning molecule we thought.

If DA RPE is the emperor, this work SCREAMS it was running naked all the time.

This paper got quite some attention recently. Let's simplify it a bit.

A core function of cortex is predicting what happens next given the world's state.

This recent paper from Oxford shows how cortical layers may use a delay trick to learn to predict.

A simple illustration can explain the idea.

The brain isn’t tabula rasa. Evolution has encoded strong inductive priors in our neural architectures and plasticity rules, providing structured initialization that enables efficient reinforcement learning and optimization.

Perception Encoder: The best visual embeddings are not at the output of the network
We introduce Perception Encoder (PE), a state-of-the-art vision encoder for image and video understanding trained via simple vision-language learning. Traditionally, vision encoders have relied on a v...
