My @peculiarityshop.bsky.social mystery box came today and it is INCREDIBLE! I audibly gasped as I unwrapped each piece. So much purple! A subtle bi pride necklace! The purple dragon skull! The ceramic pansy pendant! The string of purple pearls!!! Impossible to pick a favorite!

Honest question before I pass the news along to my friends who I convinced to call their reps yesterday - further down in the article it says that the EO and the freeze is still in place. Is there a difference between the OMB memo and the EO?
A quote from the article linked in the previous skeet. “This is NOT a rescission of the federal funding freeze,” she wrote on X. “It is simply a rescission of the OMB memo. Why? To end any confusion created by the court’s injunction. The President’s EO’s on federal funding remain in full force and effect, and will be rigorously implemented.”

I worried for about 2.5 seconds this morning that my outfit had too many patterns combined together, but then I remembered that Coco Chanel was a Nazi, so I added a bracelet.

Got my latest @peculiarityshop.bsky.social order this morning! @peripateticmeg.bsky.social did such an incredible job on this necklace that I had to try it on right away. I can’t wait for the opportunity to wear it with a shirt that does it justice rather than my ratty old housework sweatshirt.

September was a great reading month for me. I finished two books I started in August and then read two more that I picked up at my local bookstore. I’m still a smidge behind on my yearly goal, but if I can keep up this pace I should hit 24 books by the end of the year. #booksky

I read a really excellent novella tonight called A Magical Girl Retires. The whole thing will stick with me for a while - I’ll definitely have to go back and reread it at some point. I really can’t stop thinking about this quote from the translator’s note at the end of the book. #amreading #booksky

Mentally rebranding myself as a slow reader has been the biggest help to get my brain back into reading this year. Only finished two books last month, but it’s so encouraging to see that I’m also making progress on other in-progress books. Feeling good about finishing a few more books in September!
