I'm sorry Nintendo but I do not remember what Gold Points are or what they once meant to us

there are so many fonts that would only work in a video game about pirates

I don’t know who needs to hear this, but videogames are meant for everyone, at every age.

I've been playing way too much Marvel Rivals lately. Really, really wish there was a game mode intended to be a mid point between the anarchy of Quick Play and the toxicity of Ranked. I guess that's what Ranked is supposed to be, it's just that the social engineering just isn't there.

Gamers and game devs I'd like to kindly request that you stop expecting/making your RPGs bigger and bigger there's nothing wrong with a 30-40 hour long RPG. 30 hours is already an absurd length for ANY piece of media. Have you ever taken 30 hours to read a book? Have you even ever read a book?

Because I haven't linked my phone yet, I keep forgetting that Bluesky exists. Hello everyone! I'm sad and pissed that David Lynch is dead, how is everyone else?

MTG: Arena definitely should not have a feature where your opponent can see what music you are listening to (a la Discord) but a small, mean, impish part of me definitely wishes MTG:A had that feature... 👹

Saw someone upbraiding someone else for having a hobby while the world is on fire, and, my friends:

1. The world is ever on fire, this is today's conflagration;

2. If you don't find time for rest and joy the fire will consume you;

3. Don't let people shame you for being an entire human.

Jesse, a DHS agent with a firearm: Do you know how to use a gun?

Frank, a photojournalist: I've covered wars, you know.

I love this stupid line from Frank so much. It's up there in the pantheon of great stupid video game lines.

I wanna make the Dwarf Fortress of space, except it's not about settlement building it's about being an Ursula K. Le Guin character in a huge intricate procedurally generated galactic history.

The Neshtizar illithids that found the Construct were changed by what they found. The illithid of this time were a nomadic people, braving the whorls of Chaos on trillion year journeys as cryptobiotic slugs to find another region where there was enough Order that they could survive, for a time.

I started a DnD campaign in 2016. It was meant to be postapocalyptic -- A high magic analogue of the modern globalized West had fallen apart under increasing levels of Rend.

Many annoying things about this post from @mattyglesias.bsky.social, but to confine myself to one: "climate change will not wipe out humanity" is not a sufficient take on climate damages. Nothing of particular substance follows from that. It doesn't settle any argument.

Oh! And it occurs to me the scavenger cult should have the moral inclinations of the Followers of Apocalypse from the Fallout videogame series. They seek themselves as custodians and gardeners of life -- they aren't necessarily pacifist but they should be loathe to take life.

DnD Setting Idea:

A Marvel tie-in! One of the Marvel universes has a group of X-Men beset by Sentinels. Their friend with plane shifting powers sacrifices herself by stretching her powers to breaking. She is able to send the PC X-Men to another universe.

DnD Setting Idea:

Spelljammer, but unfathomably old. So many civilizations have risen and fallen in the greater Aether. The oldest organization in the setting is a cult of scavengers that refer death and decay as well as renewal, return, resurrection and recreation.

DnD Setting Idea:

Around a gas giant, vast suspended land masses travel through the planet's upper atmosphere. The masses move on variable time scales, and occasionally vast empires come into cultural, economic, and occasionally military contact.
