I resonate with the “bowls in the sink” thing though. I became disabled in 1997, and can’t do most of the things that would ease her task load. She works a full time job & still has to come home & deal with far more than “her share” of household stuff. But she does them. Because she can & I can’t.

Today is our 44th anniversary. When we met, she was 18. We had a rocky start. I’m 8 years older and was recently out of the Navy and still coping with that and related trauma. But we learned to talk things through and have managed to stumble along this far. I have hopes of seeing 50. 🤭

So many things of this nature come down to people who don’t know how to communicate with their partners about their relationship and needs.
Granted, it’s not easy. Life isn’t easy. It’s messy AF.
Anything worthwhile is.
Takes work on both sides.
Or, it breaks. Quickly and often irreparably.

As someone who learned in their 60s that they are intersex and as a parent and grandparent of transgender children, this is horrendous news. A 10-second glance between the legs of a newborn is not conclusive evidence of anything.
