Holding this thought, shared by a fellow organizer, of how we need to be sure that the things we're building won't need to be dismantled later on. These weaknesses in our institutions that are being exploited can't get papered over; we need to find more durable and less extractive ways of being.

It’s going to be an interesting election year for us in Trinidad and Tobago. Seeing our opposition leader parrot Trump’s violent rhetoric is terrifying given that we are still so behind on the advancement of human rights.
