I was 26 when I first put the word RAPE to what my mother put me through from birth through 11. The fight has cost me dearly. I can't go back to ignorance. I would never choose to be ignorant again.

I was 9 when my abuser raped me in my own home. Other family members were in the house. It is hard to imagine how he took the risk, but he did. He was sure of my silence. I didn’t tell anyone what happened until 30 years later.
I’m pretty sure he didn’t expect me to publish it in a book.
