Writing Friends Without Borders - a sitcom styled serial
Min-ji is looking for love and encouragement in all the wrong places. She's a successful artist and loves what she does. She just wants someone to tell her, "I'm proud of you." She skateboards and, with Daniel, goes camping. She's in love with someone but can't act on it, given he's married.

Kyle wasn't part of the friend group during college and has come to join it in the last 4 years. He loves everyone. He believes everything happens for a reason, and the reason is usually sappy and sentimental. He falls at first sight, and It starts the chaos over the story.

Amy doesn't let any relationship define her. She's lived abroad for the last 12 years and coming back to the States to plan her next move and spend time with her friends. She's a writer and a translator, workaholic, and perfectionist. She's moved on from college, or has she?

Shane is a deadpan kind of guy. He doesn't commit and fills his life with adventures alone and with his friends. In the group chat, Daniel is acutely aware Shane doesn't seem to talk much to Amy. He lost the love of his life early because of his fear and he's never forgiven himself.

Summer is a once jazz musician who works as an event planner. She desperately wants a baby and feels behind the curve at 31 having no children and few of the experiences she dreamt of in college. She's the glue of the group: the baby yet also the mom. And maybe a little too attached to her phone?
September 11, 2025 at 3:21 AM
Daniel is married to Summer and convinced he has it made. But does he? Spoiler: no. He's the oldest of the group, a mountain biker, an excellent home chef, and definitely emotionally neglectful.

This poetry collection was so incredible and inspirational. I'm glad it had notes at the end and the short biography about her in the beginning. I'm enthralled and going to try and find more of her poetry.

On a poetry kick and borrowed some from the library. Started with Almond Blossoms & Beyond by Mahmoud Darwish and it's so incredible. There was one poem I read at 2am and I...it spoke to me in just a way. Loved writing poetry as a preteen until my mom sucked the fun out of it, glad to find it again.

Marjan, Kassia, and Keiko: 3 best friends that all found each other first year at Hexmark and said "You like girls, reading, and crafts? Me too!" They're very different from each other, but this trio loves and supports one another. And Marjan is trying to get Kassia and Keiko to finally be a thing!

Had the worst character bleed ever after playing a great session knowing some heavy, serious shit is on the horizon and I'd made a choice that set up a character to be miserable for essentially eternity. That was *painful*. But @thetomatowriter.bsky.social and I had a great talk! #writing #ttrpgs

Yay! I have another one! They're all so Elias centric. I've written the most with him present I think though. Here's Cami's (as a Scot) first impression of him. #WIPSnips

I finally have one! Elias hates being called a hero. He'd rather everyone forget him, but when you're the infamous son of the Emperor who fought against him in the war, it's hard to forget. And it's not like he's moved on.

Impossible Challenge Task: Write a man who isn't a huge simp. NEVER! EVERY last one of them would do unspeakable things for their love. (I wonder why I loved Epic so much.) I'm just a romantic at heart. I love ruthless men being softer.

Blended Elias real smooth today. I'm running a game in my head where I see who I can give the most heartbreaking backstory to, him or Alastair.

Cami, according to Rhys, nothing. Elias and Alastair....so so much. Endangering children, terrible role models, potentially (probably) war crimes. They're still somehow trusted as teachers.... At least I'm not working on Kal's story right now, the sociopath. #WritingPrompt

Alastair Lightbringer: He fought for the Emperor, thereby putting a dictator in charge. There's plenty of rumors swirling about him amongst the grownups, and Cami is going to fight endlessly with him because she's pretty sure he's a spy for the Emperor. Why else would the Emperor's chosen son teach?

Elias the Unnamed, the Defensive and Combative Magic professor at Hexmark. He fought against the current Emperor (who is also his father) in the war, and when he lost the war, the Emperor sent a troop of soldiers to collect him. The Headmistress turned them to stone. He tries to help Cami see greys.

This is Cami Kestral Gordon Ortiz, the main lead of The Forbidden Tower. She's a trans Scottish-Mexican mage raised outside the magical world after her parents fled when her grandfather was executed during a brutal war. She is proud to be a rebel, tough, and simply would not run (as Alex says).
