Yesterday I stumbled on Magecraft Spellbuilding, a roguelike deckbuilder game with a spell crafting system! You get materials through your runs to make custom spells to use on your deck. It's being pretty fun so far, I'm surprised this is a free game.

It's a 2021 solo indie doing Salt & Sanctuary in a pre-historic era, with shamans & ancient creatures. I've played 2 hours and it's really solid (and difficult). It's crazy it only has 16 reviews

The 2013 game has been completely redone to fit my current vision of traditional arcade game design. It's denser (more levels but less overall length), with better pacing, mechanics and a proper scoring system.

On the achievements talk: They scratch an ich in the back of my head but it ended up becoming a hell of a rabbit hole that it's hard to forget about when playing something specifically on sony consoles for me. Thought a lot recently about finding ways to disable them wherever I can.
While I've no interest in chasing achievements myself (they annoy me, generally - I play for intrinsic value), I HAVE found that RetroAchievement's romhack/mods section is a really good way to find which are the biggest, most intricate mods for older games.

First actual post on this account, and I wanted to make it about these two Pink Panther games from the 90's I wish people would talk more about. Pink Panther: Passport to Peril and Hokus Pokus Pink are point and click adventure games and the only works made by Wanderlust Interactive.
