“Buy the ticket, take the ride”
For all the drama around AI, I’m sitting at Peet’s watching an older lady who is struggling with her word jumble asking the person next to her for help — which evolved into showing her how ChatGPT/AI worked.

Been a minute since I’ve been to The City.

Heading home from our trip to MSP. Glad our trip overlapped with the #mnstatefair. I enjoyed the exhibition halls the most — especially the art and robotics exhibits. They also had a combine simulator!

Bored and sitting at the gate so I decide to plunge into asking ChatGPT what it knows about me.

I came all the way to Vancouver for all dressed chips (and #Siggraph). Was not disappointed. Wish I could’ve stayed a few more days — really enjoyed this city. Farewell 👋

My oldest has gotten into city simulators 🤗

Sad to see Sim City for iPad is micro transaction hell. Pocket City 2 seems to be his speed though. Maybe in a year or two he can check out Skylines.

Latest Oxide and Friends has to be one of the best episodes. Really enjoyed the walkthrough of bringing their new Cosmo sleds up.

Calm down, folks, it was just an attempted assassination of a Jewish Democratic governor and his family on the first night of Passover, it’s not like somebody spray painted a dick on a Cybertruck.

It’s the weekend, so I’m baking. Ben loves Focaccia so I obliged. Might try something new tomorrow.

The social aspect of Venmo is completely unnecessary and why it’s always my last choice. They even tuck the setting to hide friends away which feels a bit scummy.

Imagine thinking a guy who charges around $100K for a vehicle with glued on metal panels that just fall off is the one to be trusted anywhere near our government.

Deviating from focaccia this week and tried my hand at baking a loaf of sandwich bread this afternoon. Unless I count pizza or challah, this is the first bread I’ve made where I’ve had to actually shape the dough.

Got to attend a presentation about the BDX droids at work yesterday and was fortunate enough to get a selfie! What cool stuff they are working on at #DisneyResearch! #StarWars #Disney

If you think Elon is a fascist and idiot but would still buy a Tesla knowing what you know today … I’m impressed with your ability to compartmentalize (I guess?)

Can’t wait for one of DOGEy the idiots to suggest tattooing barcodes on prisoners so they scan them more reliably and use UPS/FedEx for moving them around.
UPS can tell me the exact moment my toothbrush arrives in Nashville but the government "isn't always accurate" in tracking human beings, give me a fucking break

I don’t get why Flow won. I enjoyed it, but it felt like watching Stray without the robots. In my mind Wild Robot was the one to beat.

“Done right”

Our track record suggests we probably won’t. I commend the optimism though.
Our next president will have to be technologically competent, at least , in order for us to sustain our place in the world.

This will become increasingly obvious over the next 4 years as AI gets more powerful

This isn’t necessarily bad. Truly. Done right, we will be a better, more equal society
