The SSD that was my boot drive abruptly shat the bed and died on me. Switching to Linux is happening sooner than expected. New SSD has been ordered. Using a temp Win11 install so I can play Diablo 2 and make my install media without hooking a keyboard up to my Steam Deck.

Broadcasting on the internet for a decade and writing fiction have both resulted in what I would call statistical failure. It's not so much a tree falling down in the forest where no one can hear it, as much as it's a self-made lumber-yard, engaging in mass deforestation and no one hears it.

The only good thing about GTA V was that it introduced literally everyone under the sun to Radio Soulwax and the Dewaele brothers. That and it game me the hipster street cred of a lifetime by allowing me to pull from their 1H mixes or 2manydjs.

I have a deep-cut take that the best way to listen to Aphex Twin's Windowlicker is as part of Season 3 of Top Gear. Whoever was doing the editing for those episodes was performing some magic that makes even Birmingham seem appealing.

Excluding the music choices, the 1st episode of the 4th season of Anthony Bourdain's Parts Unknown is some of the most phenomenal television editing I've seen. Something about China brings it out from cast and crew, since the last time I said this was about their episode in King Kong.

Ben Hillier's influence on Playing the Angel, Sounds of the Universe and Delta Machine is probably the most underrated aspect of Depeche Mode's whole discography. What a trilogy!

Became possessed by the lingering consciousness of the Daud "Enough Money to Disappear" Farewell Tour and went back into Dishonored II for a cheeky 3 AM blitz on Kirin Jindosh's Clockwork Mansion. Finished it in less than thirty minutes. Just went for all runes and charms, burning mana all over.

Played Nioh 2 again for a couple of hours tonight. There is such a familiar strain in the tendons of my hand, which sets upon around the third or fourth mission. This game is so good, but I don't know what kind of organism I need to be sometimes to play it at the proper intensity.
