No secret that I’m a big fan of Jimmy Mapham’s work, his 13/18 Hussar pics started off the whole markings obsession, so here’s to you Jim!

It's striking that the one person who's taken no political damage from Brexit is the person who did most to bring it about.

That's partly because Lab remains afraid to talk honestly about the impact of Brexit.

So long as that continues, they'll take the heat for the consequences of Farage's project
Neither Labour nor the Conservatives have made Farage bear any of the political costs of Brexit that they themselves have endured in terms of intra-party divisions and wider public discontent.

I’ve seen ballets that were less well choreographed than Iran’s flight of missiles which the Qataris, the Americans and British were warned about in advance — in case any crockery might get broken — and Pres Trump could then celebrate in caps on social media.

The only way to truly make Brexit work...

...is to bury it six feet under and join the EU as full members again. That way Brexit can fulfil its true function as a blip in history that serves as an important cautionary tale.

De Montfort was meant to be an “anchor institution” and “civic university” working for the “benefit of local people and the prosperity of our places”.

But its executives have raided it and in 2-3 years claimed £278K in their own luxury expenses.

What a treat! Sleep be damned!
One week to go until the paperback of #AReluctantSpy comes out from @headlinebooks.bsky.social! Read the book that David McCloskey warned is 'guaranteed to cost you hours of sleep' (then make sure and take a nap, sleep is important).

Spectacular, evocative sculptures.
From Monday. Wind whipped foaming white seas just after high tide at Crosby beach, the iron men facing the rough waters as dark skies loom overhead with just a glimpse of sunlight adding a slight sparkle to the turbulent sea.
