Artist of terms, sometimes a seller of sentences.
The artist was not thinking about Luigi's neck when drawing his neck... 👀
The courtroom sketch artist doing Luigi this dirty is the real crime here.

Teaching fact-based classes with AI is easy to get right. Tell the students to generate an AI essay; they only get credit for correctly marking up what the AI got wrong/right.

Fiction is tougher, unless they can't tell you the meaning of half of the words they used.

D.C., September 1, 2025, almost 3 years after Queen Elizabeth II dies, the White House admits on Labor Day that Trump's been dead for an entire weekend and they wanted to limit the celebration time before people went back to the office.

Whereas, the former GOP is the sole Party of protecting guns while blaming all other "causes" of these tragedies, and wields all three branches of Government,
I, the Omega and Future Inevitable 48th POTUS, approve, until further notice: "mass shooting" shall be called "Republican Endorsed Killings".

No, the last two posts are not contradictory. Read them again.

Loving more authors = Deeper pool of ripping each other off = Impossibility of anyone claiming that you've ripped off any one person ("Spartacus Effect")

"Good authors copy, great authors steal."

Never worry about originality. Nobody's had an original thought since at least 1948, maybe longer. That's why some people have such a strong existential crisis over "needing" to be original that "AI" becomes the scapegoat. Still, don't outright steal...

Samuel "Foghorn Leghorn" Clemens may have trolled and he may have done it very well for the 19th Century, but the OG American troll was Benjamin Franklin. You cannot read "A Letter to a Royal Academy: Fart Proudly" and tell me any different.

Reaching a reader's heart depends on character strength. If you're not using a strong enough character--and the movies ignore this when making chest holes--you may need a rib spreader.

#Writers, think beyond just retelling Animal Farm. Are you doing it because you have a "What if..." scenario or because you want to inject your own political message? Or do you just want to write about talking animals?

Don't worry about having a portfolio. Some authors have bibliographies that could wrap around the world but only have one piece that's any good. I'd say you can't ask Bram Stoker anymore, but you might catch him after the sun goes down--take garlic.

Artificial Intelligence won't replace #writers. Ever. Not because it can’t write, that's not the point. #AI simply doesn’t understand the crushing guilt of opening a WIP for the first time in six months and realizing it still hates Chapter 3. That's what leads to progress - only you can make that.

The focus on "plot" risks you "telling" me what's going on. Say it with me, "There is no such thing as plot." Great. Now go show me the characters interacting in scenes pulled from a hat - seeking advice from a mentor, getting information from an unseen figure, failing with the love interest, etc.

"Unless you ask, the answer is always 100% no." The same goes for publishing, which means that you have to write whatever it is, down and out.

Maybe you love it. Maybe it disappoints you.

But what's considered garbage by everyone you know today may be the next generation's spark of enlightenment.

Bold and italics have come up (together) a lot in the past week, and as one who gets the opposite of your intent from it, let me tell you: I'm inattentive to the information. Really, it was so underwhelming that you needed to gussy it up twice? C'mon....

They did not let the People go. Instead, the Fourth Reich built a camp in Florida, named "Alligator Alcatraz".
So he called on God, who spread the floodwaters as far west as Texas, where they turned to blood.
But the Fourth Reich said, "People died under Biden, too."
Thus was the first plague.

Most important rule for this type of villain: Nobody ever wakes up thinking, "What evil will I do today?"

I know what you're going to say, but for purposes of having a complex villain, you have to imagine those one-dimensional evil people don't exist.

I know it took a long time for RBG, but it shouldn't matter how long it took for a title to be created in the first place.

And it was a *really good* dissent.

For appropriate ghostwriting without being ostracized, two things are important. First, ask permission to be on the haunted property. Second, don't be the cause of the ghost.

I get the professionalism of abbreviating "AF," but let's really consider abbreviating the whole phrase: WAF.

And yes, democracy means that we don't have to make WAF happen if people want to stick with saying "Woke AF" ... ... but consider it. Strongly.

Better question: Why not WAF?

For your questions that others might deem "judgment calls," if it can be answered by a number, you have an Ultimate Question by default. Refer to the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, which gives you an answer of 42.

#Writers of the #WritingCommunity, can we get in the same lane for advising that some aspiring writers need to "go outside and touch the grass"?

I know: ambiguity makes for good diversity of outcomes. BUT having both the smell outside my window AND a bunch of kneeling writers to trip over...

Definitely support on Reddit for just #writing with or without "kill[ing] your darlings" ... not so much in the BlueSky #writingcommunity. But #writers (prepares shielding from thrown objects), what about gaining #exposure?

One of the greatest treasures is a book that just writes itself. While it's doing that, move onto a project that is having trouble writing itself.
