I tasted some decent wine in Poland when I last visited. It reminded me of late 70s Oregon wine. There is enough to label it emerging but there is a lot of bad wine to go through first. Question is, will anyone care.

The people who were vehemently contrary in the beginning are determined to be right now, and whenever they feel their intransigence is supportable. They’ll keep trying, too.

Part of the problem is how the OVR defines “old.” 35 is too young which only serves to dilute the message. If you want to sell the message of old vines you have to play into scarcity and exclusivity.
