I tasted some decent wine in Poland when I last visited. It reminded me of late 70s Oregon wine. There is enough to label it emerging but there is a lot of bad wine to go through first. Question is, will anyone care.

Part of the problem is how the OVR defines “old.” 35 is too young which only serves to dilute the message. If you want to sell the message of old vines you have to play into scarcity and exclusivity.

Several Swiss cantons are offering restaurants significant incentives to promote and pour local wine. I agree with this initiative in this time of stress.
