Curtis Yarvin:

"Without a full-blown autocratic takeover, he believes, a backlash is sure to follow.... he quoted the words of Louis de Saint-Just, the French philosopher who championed the Reign of Terror: 'He who makes half a revolution digs his own grave.'"

The trouble with everyone blaming the non-release of the Epstein files on Trump being in them is that there are many other rich, famous, and powerful men who are equally opposed to their release, and are doing everything they can to support Trump keeping them hidden.

I hated James Comey before you did, since he tried to force all encryption software to have a "backdoor" for government use. (All this does is ensure that encryption will be perpetually insecure.) Feb 2016

I gotta admit I was completely surprised by this MAGA kerfuffle about Jeffrey Epstein. I knew that MAGA is a cesspool of conspiracy theories but assumed they’d stay away from that one because, well, its most public and documented dirtbag is their orange god.

This is a genuinely terrible take by Brooks. Yada yada yada Enlightenment... How about selfish racist assholes like the guy who makes it ok -- by example and by words -- to be a selfish racist asshole?

AI is a minor part of this. Tech companies are laying off everyone because they no longer need to innovate. Their market dominance means they can just keep selling the same stuff without all of the people who helped build the companies. Just taking the profits like any good capitalists.

Good description of how Bluesky is a fundamental upgrade to today's "lock 'em in" social media empires.
While Bluesky looks like other social apps on the surface, it’s actually quite different. It’s an open network.

I blogged about it here:
