Imagine how different this country would be if the media cared about corruption, genocide, child poverty, and ecological destruction like it cares about a tiny handful of rich people whining about inheritance tax. We are in a mess because the people whose job it is to inform us keep us misinformed.

The problem with the Labour right dedicating several years to encouraging the British media to call any basic democratic socialism “dangerous extremism!!!!!!11” is that they might just do it to you when you try and get rich people to pay a tiny bit more inheritance tax.

If you bring central London to a halt in order to campaign against catastrophic climate change then you're a "barmy" eco "fanatic" who deserves to be locked up.

If you do the same to hang on to your multimillion pound inheritance tax exemption then you're a brave freedom fighter defying the odds
