Mark my words: right now, it's an editorial cartoon being killed by the brass of The Washington Post. Pretty soon, it's a major story about Trump's corruption being killed by the brass.

This will happen. Get ready for it.

Do not do *anything* related to voter registration on any 3rd party sites, especially any PACs. Always start with vote.gov or vote.org to check or update your registration status, or register to vote.
Wtf, Elon: “[it] has shelled out more than $800,000 since early July for targeted digital marketing to battleground state voters namely in Arizona, Michigan, Georgia, North Carolina, Nevada, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin. Many of the ads encouraged people to register to vote at America PAC’s website”

This really works; delete the gobbledegook after your search term (in my e.g. this is q=recipe+for+bread) and add &udm=14 and all the top tips, AI summaries, 'also searched for' and video (1st image) vanishes. You just get actual search results (2nd image).

After a year of hype, the reality is emerging. Cloud clients aren’t buying generative AI tools because they’re expensive, lack accuracy, and it’s not clear what value they provide. Some analysts are already warning of a coming “trough of disillusionment.”
Generative AI Providers Quietly Tamp Down Expectations
In the past year, major technology firms have championed generative artificial intelligence as the next big thing, boosting the stock market to new highs. But behind the scenes, representatives of maj...

We can only deal with the chronic school absences by addressing their root cause. That root cause is repeat infection with a virus with debilitating effects, a virus that is still rapidly mutating with a high infectiousness. We can't ignore us. Schools tell us we can't ignore it.

Are ground truths in the humanities possible? They are fundamental – to the future of computational humanities. We constructed a ground truth on Quine's notion of naturalism (aclanthology.org/2020.coling-...); a second ground truth on Russell's epistemology of axioms is being finalised as we speak.

I'm a believer that digital archives are:

1. Important for increasing access to historical records
2. Part of government's duty to preserve and make records available to citizens.

Pennsylvania should not be giving ownership of digital records to ancestry.com

Inside the Pa. court case pitting a genealogist against Ancestry.com
Pennsylvania hired genealogy company Ancestry.com to digitize a sweeping list of historical documents. Now the company claims it owns those digital copies.
