I love how concrete cooking is, especially compared to my day job of programming computers to communicate with each other. There's beef stew in the slow cooker and every step of getting it ready felt so immediate, even though the actual end product will take hours of simmering.

This is the thing that's getting me. this isn't another 4 rough years, this is the start of a new and entirely different era of state power wielded *solely* for cruelty without the semi-functional guardrails of modernity that the relatively liberal administrative state provided.
i think that the people interested in recriminations and score settling right now aren’t seriously grappling with the magnitude of what happened and the implications for the rest of our lives. most of us will probably die living in the political order that will emerge out of this election.

There still isn't a result in the BC provincial election because it's uncomfortably close, which is pretty stressful for me. The meteoric rise of the BC Conservative Party from fringe nobodies to possibly forming government threatens my queer family, our education, and our healthcare.
