I think it can still be believable. It just might be less accurate and realistic. But I'm ok with that. Top Gun Maverick was plenty believable without being totally accurate to the real thing.

But that's what makes it interesting - the spy world has changed, but it still exists. Why not have him doing whatever spys do today? There's still a need for human intelligence. Undercover. Open-Source OSINT stuff too. Cyber warfare (whatever it's called today).

That is a very good point. It's a perfect time for Bond to come back. It still needs its own identity, but with those franchises coming to an end it makes it a lot easier for Bond to carve out its own one. Pulling bits from those where it wants to.

It needs to find it's place in between the Fast & Furious and the Mission Impossible styles. While being careful not to get too Austin Powers.

That's the biggest issue Bond has. Not continuity but 'why does Bond exist as a franchise when MI and F&F already do a lot of that stuff'.

Haha I forgot about that. I'm still not sure if I love or hate it

One of the great things about the Bond films is that they're a reflection of the era they were made in. So I think, while interesting, going back to the 60s would be a shame. I want to watch 2020s Bond in the 2050s and see how Bond dealt with 2020s cultures.
November 11, 2025 at 10:35 AM
You know they'll do something like that. As long as Bond doesn't wink at the camera while saying it I think it'll be all they need to do.
November 11, 2025 at 10:24 AM
Exactly. It's not like it's a consistent franchise with fixed lore going back to the 60s. Bond himself isn't expected to be a 90 year old man, FFS. People will be fine.

"BuT BoNd DiEd In ThE LaSt mOvIe?!?"
"Yes, that was Craig's Bond. This is Anthony Boyle's Bond. It's different now".

Sad to see Esteve drop out of the top 3.

T2 is great partly *because* T1 set everything up for it.
November 10, 2025 at 11:39 AM
Terminator is the better film, yes. Just the perfect intro segment too where you learn who all the characters are, what the plot will be, who is good, who is bad... All without exposition. Expertly done.

And yet I'd go watch T2 over T1 if both were showing at the same time.

Took me too long to figure out what it wanted me to do. Early on I had to get a Camera but I just assumed it was a more linear game and that I was missing the technique to collect it. Then I realised 'oh, there are subquests and msisions I can do to earn money! (Or just steal money)' and it clicked.

I genuinely don't understand how numerous people didn't get killed during the making of this.

"Right, this next scene has you all shooting at eachother while we've wired up all the walls and everything in here to get exploded around you. And ACTION!"

I've not seen the Alien series so I don't know how similar in tone it is. But the story of this one isn't exactly complex so doesn't need much exposition. It's all pretty predictable.

Well, Predator is Disney now.

I still think it's worth a watch though. It may be a 12A but I don't think I'd take my 10yo to see it.

Well, he talks and has family issues.

Predator is such a great creation, and this movie shows just how versatile the franchise can be, unlike the Alien one which feels a bit stuck just redoing the same thing. There's a lot that could - and should - have been better in this, but as an idea and approach I think it works.
A ★★★ review of Predator: Badlands (2025)
I'm torn on this thing. On the one hand, there's quite a lot of good fun to be had here. Some great action scenes, impressive effects (mostly), and a gleefully evil planet where everything you see and...

I love Peter Green-era Fleetwood Mac. Not so much the Stevie Nicks / Lindsey Buckingham-era. I guess Rumours is always high up on those periodic 'best albums of time' lists that big publications put out every decade or so, so people will rediscover it then, and it sticks for a lot of people.
November 9, 2025 at 9:06 AM
Probably, yes. They've not really done a bad one though, tbh.
