I'm a software developer, UI designer, husband, and father with a mechanical keyboard addiction. I'm also an autodidact and fierce proponent of the Oxford comma. You can check out my nerdy open source projects on Github (https://github.com/argentini).
If you can destroy a thing you control that thing. This is why #Ukraine drone technology innovations will accelerate their eventual victory.

The .NET DUID
DUID is a fully-featured replacement for GUIDs. They are more compact, web-friendly, and provide more entropy than GUIDs.

Steve Jobs called Apple’s new head of UI design, Steve Lemay, “Margaret” because *SHOCKER* Jobs was a dick.

“At some point Steve Jobs got really frustrated and said ‘Guess what, you’re Margaret from now on.' From there on, members of the team would always address the designer Steve as Margaret.”

Did the Enterprise warp core run on steam or are we doing energy the wrong way?

Pro Tip: negotiate when being offered a job. Remember: they need you, you don’t need them.

Regarding AI toys OpenAI told NPR "Our usage policies prohibit any use of our services to exploit, endanger, or sexualize anyone under 18 years old.”

So I guess they’re OK with exploiting, endangering, and sexualizing 18 year olds.

The iOS 26.2 beta changes to the Level app are a great single example of why iOS 26 still looks like a scrotum.

They use two giant droplets that converge when your phone is level all the while the degrees are blurred and distorted. #Apple has a weird fetish for making things hard to see. #LiquidAss

Has anyone noticed that there are a lot of white app icons in iOS? Trend or lack of creativity?

I posted a new open source project called Duid: a high entropy, web-friendly, globally unique identifier. It’s like a better version of a GUID for use in API keys and such.

The macOS Tahoe Liquid Glass UI has the attention to detail of a bad Linux distro. It’s not one big problem. It’s death by a thousand paper cuts. Here are a few Finder issues.

App developers: stop adding fake specular highlights to your app. You’re enshitifying the iOS 18 springboard with icons that look skewed.

If #Apple thought that Liquid Ass would distract everyone from the Apple Intelligence failure, boy were they right for all the wrong reasons.
November 4, 2025 at 4:28 AM
Who at Apple thought this liquid ass was a good idea? Even in 26.1 it’s a shit show. The inattention to clarity and detail is deafening.
