This is Huda Susï. We followed each other some days ago. Yesterday I found out that she was killed in the bombings. We could have been friends. I never got to know you Huda but rest in your heavenly abode and we will meet in the nest life. I feel so much pain and loss that words can't describe it.

If I ever again say something like "I thought we were better than this," hit me very hard with the largest object you can find within an arm's length.

i am no longer up for debating whether palestinians deserve to live. the answer is an emphatic yes, palestinians deserve to live with dignity and freedom. nothing will ever justify a genocide. killing more than 7,000 civilians who belong to a distinct ethnic group in less than a month is a genocide.

If you quote-tweet and comment positively or neutrally, that's great!

If you quote-tweet someone just to say "look at this asshole, please harass them", that's not ok here.

It was the norm on twitter.

I read this piece by the Israeli human rights lawyer Michael Sfard in 2016. I remember at the time thinking that he had nailed it, and I've thought about this piece often since then. I just googled to find it again this evening; it still rings so, so true. Even as far away as peace feels now.
The Israeli occupation will end suddenly
The strength of organizations working to end the occupation and their supporters is greater than we think.

Weird how the folks who spent the past 7 years turning "Cancel cCulture" into a political cudgel have no issues with a nation-state hiring PR firms to literally hunt down & get people fired & expelled for expressing beliefs on social media that are in opposition to their own.
