Museums designed for quiet contemplation now also have to accommodate phones and selfies. Not saying it's bad - just different. The question is how to adapt without losing what makes these spaces special. The challenge is to design an experience where the phone is included, but doesn't take over.

Two of our volunteers on site got VERY excited, saying it made sharing their involvement with family and friends easier.

They can open the files on phone and desktop to share what they have achieved the last two weekends, helping others connect to the shared community excavations.

The iphone 13 pro is one of the models that has lidar, making the recordings slightly better than standard photogrammetry.

While nowhere near as fancey as top of the line equipment, it’s fast and effective. We used free software that came with the phone too!
