I remember a very good point, from @matthewdgreen.bsky.social I think, that digital communications became so pervasive in our lives that we should demand it to have the nice properties of an in person conversation, rather than of a phone call/telegram/letter (regarding confidentiality, deniabiltiy…)

Im seeing endless workshops on "how to use AI/incorporate AI in the classroom" etc, does anyone know of workshops on how to refuse AI?
Not even be critical of AI (which is often just one or two slides of handwaving-but-it-is-here) but to refuse it in the classroom and in our research?

I love being a human artist and creating something never before seen, out of my mind’s eye. I love making every decision with care. I love trying and failing. I love noticing mistakes and fixing them. I love it all.

i've written a blog post about why I think we should reject generative AI in the university: languagemechanics.neocities.org/no-gen-ai

in the 3.5 years that I had my music up on streaming platforms I 'made' $10.77 (which is stuck behind a $20 payout threshold by the distro) - in the 5 years since I started putting music up on Bandcamp I've made $1,024.25
This year my music got 96,000 streams on Spotify and had 46,000 listeners and I made… $185.61. Total.

This is indefensible. Truly an evil company. I totally get why people enjoy using Spotify, but if you want to support musicians, please consider buying our stuff on Bandcamp once in awhile. 💚
