Free taxpayer money! Sounds like everyone should flood the application process.. perhaps having them actually hire people who actually believe in following the rule of law. Take them over from the inside?

So, yeah, please, please, please support your local libraries. See if you can make financial donations. Use the hell out of your library card. Go to library programs.

We are there to help you but we need help too.

Those of you not in library work need to understand the impact of this. Libraries in my state are getting cold calls from Amazon wanting to get into libraries. They know the closure is going to make a huge impact on libraries nationwide.

There’s at least one library I know (a fairly large one) who is stuck because they’re needing to go out for bid on a new contract but the two principal remaining vendors are just too overwhelmed to respond.

And, while this is going on, there have been RIFs at ALA, our professional organization. They’ve considerably reduced the department that supports libraries dealing with intellectual freedom challenges.

Plus, the current President of the organization identifies as Republican
