A brown weevil beetle, about 8mm long is held between my finger and thumb. Facing the camera it has a rostrum or snout over half the length of the rest of its body. The body is covered in small brown hairs. The club-shaped end of the antenna has 3 segments which, I think, makes this species Curculio nucum. My fingernails are grubby as I have been shovelling handfuls of leaf litter into a sieve! A brown weevil beetle, about 8mm long is held between my finger and thumb.
