Trump removing all the EV chargers from government buildings seems to make no sense because it wastes tax dollars. But remember that he is the most corrupt President since Harding and it makes perfect sense. Fossil fuel companies paid him money so he's trying to force Americans to pay for gasoline.

Another reimbursement check is arriving soon for my overnight EV charging. These reimbursement checks make my EV charging cost only about $15/month. This demonstrates why the fossil fuel industry is funding the collapse of the US government. Unless they do that, they will all be out of business.

Spent my Sunday doing some emergency prepping by ordering some informational books and home medical supplies. Between assured natural disasters due to climate change and the possibility of political unrest here in the USA, prepping is not paranoia. It's a good idea to plan for bad times right now.

Celery is one of the best #vegetables to grow hydroponically. If you harvest only 1/3 of the stems at a time, the plant will continue to grow and produce for a very long time. One of my #celery #plants is now 14 months old.

I already have a contract with a 3rd party supplier for the reimbursement of 250 kWh of overnight #EV #charging per month, but today I also applied with the utility company for a 2 cent per kWh discount on the transmission charges as well. I wasn't aware until today that I could get both discounts.

The House # GOP unveiled their first stab at a 2026 budget and tax plan which includes ending the tax credit for #EVs and adding an additional $1000 federal tax on top of that to dissuade people from buying them. Between that and all the state fees, it shows the lengths needed to make EVs look bad.

I'm starting to plan events for the NJ Electric Vehicle Association for 2025 and it is mentally a lot more challenging this year due to the politicization of EVs. I have been physically assaulted before by an anti-EV extremist at one of our shows and I'm concerned this is going to be more common.

I got selected for jury duty for next week and I'm not bothered by this at all. Get the day off from work AND possibly get paid $5 to pass judgment on people? What's not to like?

I never expected the #USA government to be destroyed in my lifetime and definitely not this quickly with half of #Americans cheering it on. What a difficult time in history this is.

The new license plate frame I bought to put on my Chevrolet Bolt EUV. Thought it might look nice on the EV while it is charging in my driveway.

Same day we received our latest reimbursement payment for #EV #charging, we also received notice of our new contract. The price per kWh is going up about 3 cents over last year's rate, but that's because the utility co.'s rate is increasing. This rate can't be increased while under contract.

Under this contract, it usually only costs me about $15/mo to charge my EV

Shell New Energies has hit pause on the Atlantic Shores offshore #windpower project in #NewJersey due to Trump. NJ can't produce enough power for ourselves despite widespread offshore wind, because Trump wants us to buy it from PA.

I highly recommend that you should become a member of your local @PBS station. I have zero doubt that this is the last year for a while that #publicbroadcasting will have support from the #US government. #PBS needs support from the people to survive. Donate at least $60 and you'll get back episodes.

My data this month from Recurrent on the state of my #EV . I don't go out of my way to keep the charge between 20% and 80% and just recharge to 100% overnight each night, so my average state of charge is 86%. It's winter so the range is down a little bit but not bad. I've saved a buttload of money.

I have had so much fun reading J.M. DeSantis' "Chadhiyana" comics. This is a really good creator-owned series. The story is great and the artwork is really nice.

I engage in a lot of radical behaviors and one of them is growing #hydroponic #vegetables, #fruit, and #herbs all year long. The industrial farms can't infect you with salmonella if you don't use their products.
