It usually doesn't spin. It's a bug because of the placement and the angle it's interacted with.

It takes the transform of the original position then uses linear interpolation to move it to a set position in front of the player based on the camera.

I can see how it can be a bit silly here.

Added a note reading mechanic!

Some misinformed people think that the Unreal Engine is unoptimized.

It only depends the developer takes the time to optimize or not. And this goes for all game engines.

Here is some footage of a level in my game running on 8gb of vram. An avg build.

Added a basic dodge mechanic!

Added a slide mechanic!

Now our lil' gobo can avoid enemies much more quickly by sliding beneath obstacles rather than slowly crawling!

Added a dialogue system to my game!

I still need to add graphics to the Ui, what I have now is just a generic placeholder. But the underlying logic is working well and is very dynamic.

Starting to refine my gameplay loop for the upcoming alpha demo!

Stealth, combat, exploration - all sharing a singular set of resources like stamina. Darkvision now costs stamina, as well as attacks. Lil' goblins get tired easy, so plan ahead!

Added a 'darkvision' mechanic to my goblin character!

Forget torches or flashlights - goblins can see in the dark whenever they want! Simply toggle dark vision with 'T' or any keybind of choice.

Stamina system added!

The gems are supposed to darken gradually as stamina depletes but as it is they're either completely lit- or completely dark. Rest assured this will be fixed by the time the alpha demo is released.

Added a Health bar!

I may make it to where the 'pulsing affect' isn't synchronized, and spruce up the icons themselves a bit.

I'll do the same system with green hexagonal gems instead as stamina later.

Add a blocking mechanic to NPCs!

Sorry about the compression- had to make the video fit below 10mb. I made the 'shield block' sound by attacking a piece of wood with a wrench :3

Taking a tiny break this week, just making minor tweaks to the combat system to get it to where I want it to be for the pre-alpha demo build.

Added blocking and spruced up the attack animations / combo flow today.
