@philiprsteele.co.uk @octopus.energy can you add Powerwall 3 to your Intelligent Octopus Go control? 😁 Octopus are installing ours next week and I'm worried it's going to end up charging my car during the slots outside of the fixed hours!

I've been blocked for I believe the first time on Blue sky. For explaining to someone that there is no massive NI pot to pay for the state pension and that it is in fact paid for by current taxation...which will come under increasing strain over the coming decades...

@dwallacewells.bsky.social: “It took from the invention of the photovoltaic solar cell, in 1954, until 2022 for the world to install a terawatt of solar power; the second terawatt came just two years later, and the third will arrive either later this year or early next.”

In the past two years, without much notice, solar power has begun to truly transform the world’s energy system.

Is this outright lies (based on my reading of your recent synopsis)? Or are they twisting things beyond all recognition??

More BBC acquiesence in the culture wars...
Sad news about the Happy Heat Pump Podcast.

Sorry to say, that after about 20 episodes, we’re drawing it to a close at the request of the BBC which worries it may be seen as steering into areas of public controversy.

Think this is too simplistic. I think they're stuck. A big chunk of Tesla's stock price is about Musk's pie in the sky stargazing (and maybe a bit of fanboy worship). At the same time the big decline is very much on him. I think they're really in a spot of bother...

This is just awful. The most powerful country in the world is bullying a nation invaded by it's much bigger nation. They're ordering them to show gratitude. Do Americans swallow this? Do they really think that behaviour is noble in any way ?!?!

At what point do we start to consider Musk as genuinely dangerous? Am I overplaying it? He's already coming across as kingmaker at home and abroad. He has immense resources and effectively the biggest propaganda machine in the world

(I very sadly say this as a Tesla driver...)
Have written about Starmer's speech- his best moment yet as PM. He implicitly identified what sits at the heart of this story: the emergence of a common UK/US online right, headed by the radicalised Musk.

It is making extremist, until recently fringe politics mainstream in British conservatism.
