Currently attending the first half of the tutorial on jjodel at MODELS 2024. So far, it looks like a nice web-based environment to teach modeling, based on a more modern stack.

I've run into the weird scenario where a particular race condition in my code was only causing test failures from Github Actions - not from Jenkins, and not from my dev machine. (I even tried using Docker to simulate having only 1/2/4 cores!)

It's now fixed, though. Phew!

Erin is not exaggerating. Don't try to put lilies someplace "safe" like on a high shelf or on top of the fridge, just don't bring them in your home at all. Tell everyone, especially since the Easter lilies are coming soon, too. www.fda.gov/animal-veter....
It's almost Valentine's Day so it's my yearly reminder that lilies are DEADLY to cats. Every single part of the lily. Even the tiniest sniff of pollen will send a cat into kidney failure within an hour. Lilies are a death sentence. If you have cats DO NOT have lilies in your home!

The blue LED, one of the most difficult and important inventions ever – which allowed the white LED – is some of the craziest Chad shit I have ever heard about anything. This guy is pinnacle determination holy crap.

Why It Was Almost Impossible to Make the Blue LED
The blue LED was supposed to be impossible—until a young engineer proposed a moonshot idea. I just received an invitation to review a paper that only gave me 1 week to read it. How does anyone expect that the paper will be read carefully at all in that time? 🤣

Spent a few hours debugging a flaky build in an example project. Turns out we may have race conditions that only show up with Docker and "--cpus 2". :-/
