Your university budget concerns are not a valid justification for embracing fascism and turning academia into a tool for authoritarian repression. Much better you simply close down if you really can’t manage to exist without those government grant dollars they’re cutting anyway.

All of Elon Musk's tens of billions of loans are linked to Tesla, if it goes bankrupt so will he and all his other companies.

Precisely NONE of us are surprised that the USA has been added to the CIVICUS Monitor Watchlist.

I can’t wait to see our score on Transparency International’s 2025 Corruption Perceptions index. 🚩🚩🚩

NEW: The International Criminal Court has been asked to investigate former President Joe Biden, Secretary of State Antony Blinken, and Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin for aiding and abetting Israeli war crimes in Gaza.

Making Luigi Mangione Inevitable
There is a deep well of anger and pain in the United States, and a good number of those angry and hurting people know quite well who is causing their pain.

Agree — This is the time to be intentional about sharing stories of resistance, in whatever form it might take: inspiring graffiti, a radical reading group, direct action (large or small), mutual aid efforts. #WeKeepUsSafe, but We need to Keep Us Sane, too. ✊🏻
One of the hardest realignment's for advocates/activists right now is how precious people's time and capacity to deal with all the Bad Things are. Truly we are being overloaded and it's going to be tough to balance the need to do something against the dangers of burning people out.

You are MEMBERS OF CONGRESS.

If they threaten you with arrest for trying to access a site you are lawfully entitled to access, YOU MAKE THEM FUCKING ARREST YOU.

YOU MAKE THEM SLAP THE CUFFS ON A CONGRESSMAN LIVE ON TV, YOU MAKE THEM FUCKING DO IT.
Members of Congress say they were just denied entry to USAID headquarters on orders of Elon Musk and DOGE and were told to contact the State Department for any further information.

"...a democracy is not safe if the people tolerate the growth of private power to a point where it becomes stronger than their democratic state itself. That, in its essence, is fascism — ownership of government by an individual, by a group, or by any other controlling private power."

Is this how you ‘persist?!’🙄
A stern social media post won’t stop or even delay a fascist coup. Get out there and make some f#%ing noise @warren.senate.gov.
No one elected Elon Musk.

As Donald Trump allows Musk to access people’s personal information and shut down government funding, Republicans in Washington will also own the consequences.

We must do everything in our power to push back and protect people from harm.

So the most powerful man in the world and the richest man in the world clumsily fired a bunch of senior air traffic staff, caused the worst domestic air disaster since 9/11, and then tried to blame black people

If you have a smidge of power and you catch yourself thinking:

Maybe we'll be safe if we:
- tone this justice program a bit
- take that 'decolonization' reference off the website
- nix that grant for decarbonization...

know that you are playing your part in Trump's game perfectly.

Oxfam’s annual inequality report, “Takers Not Makers,” explores how most billionaire wealth is taken, not earned - with 60% coming from either inheritance, cronyism or monopoly power. Furthermore, our deeply unequal world remains colonial in many ways.
