This year’s @nobelprize.org in Physiology or Medicine has been awarded to Mary E. Bunkow, Fred Ramsdell and Shimon Sakaguchi for their work on #PeripheralImmunity. Together they discovered how the #ImmuneSystem regulates itself to prevents #autoimmunity.

As the @nobelprize.org ceremonies are being held tomorrow, we thought we would reflect on the winners of the Medicine or Physiology Nobel Prize from the last few years:

As 2025 is coming to an end, we wanted to mention some prominent discoveries from the past year, and today it is #RNAimmunoPrecipitation (#RIP), a method that is similar to #ChromatinImmunoPrecipitation, but focuses on #RNA binding #proteins instead of DNA binding proteins.

Today is #WorldAIDSDay, commemorating this major #Public Health concern. As a company of scientists, we are passionate about tackling such issues, and we are committed to support research to overcome them. Today we hold a moment of silence to honour the #HIV victims worldwide.

Happy Thanksgiving from all of us at Antibodies.com! We are so thankful for your efforts to push the boundaries of scientific discovery!

To label several targets in one standard #immunofluorescence sample, you need pairs of primary and secondary #antibodies, each one from a different host, to avoid cross-labelling. Biotinylated primary antibodies allow you to directly fluorescently-label your antibodies and overcome this obstacle.
November 27, 2025 at 1:07 PM
Why else? flexibility! Pick and choose your reporter. Use one antibody and conjugate it to #AlkalinePhosphatase for #ELISA, #horseradishperoxidase for #WesternBlot or a #fluorophore for #Immunofluorescence. Check out our range of biotinylated secondary antibodies:

History of biotin - part 2
The 1930’s and 1940’s were a leap forward in our understanding of biotin. What was once known as Bios, Vitamin H and Growth Factor became Biotin, an honorary member of the vitamin B family, now known as vitamin B7.
November 25, 2025 at 9:46 AM
The Structure of Biotin was published in @science.org on November 20th 1942. To celebrate this discovery, this week we are all about #biotin, from historic milestones to modern applications. To kickstart our celebration, let's go back to the early 20th century.

🔎 Cold exposure boosts brown fat function by increasing DEL-1 in blood vessels. DEL-1 helps brown fat precursor cells grow by activating key cell signals. Boosting DEL-1 could improve metabolism and cold tolerance (A303388, mouse UCP1 ELISA) buff.ly/yYgcaaL

Isotype control antibodies act as negative controls to detect non-specific binding. From the same host species and Ig class as test antibodies, they bind to non-expressed antigens. This helps researchers in accurately distinguishing specific signals. buff.ly/qejYQUW
