A knitter who discovered Taylor Swift and the Chiefs. I’m old enough to be your mother and I’ve never voted for that guy.

i find this image so fascinating. it is both a literal example of authoritarianism but also a second-hand reproduction of the aesthetics of other authoritarian states. it's like a simulacra of authoritarianism whose purpose is to attempt to make the simulacra real.
This is a real photograph of Washington, DC this week, where the United States president has ordered military occupation in peacetime, and ordered the display of colossal portraits of himself.

The oil industry buys off Congress. No action on climate.

The NRA buys off Congress. No action on guns.

Insurance companies buy off Congress. No action on health care.

The list goes on and on.

Money in politics is the root of our dysfunction.

For the third time, the Government Accountability Office has told Congress that the Trump administration unlawfully withheld funds. How many times does it need to happen before Congress actually does something?

The same people demanding you present a photo ID to vote are perfectly fine with letting you be arrested, handcuffed & thrown into a van by armed men wearing plain clothes, face masks & presenting no identification of any sort.

While relocating my home office, I came across this book I read 6 years ago #Don’tShoottheDog. At the time, I thought the title was extreme but attention-grabbing. Now I realize some actually believe that’s a valid option, rather than choosing to train their dog.

What you learn the last few years

Listen: if you’re still thinking “I’m just not political” then I’m sorry to be the one to tell you this but either you choose to get political now while there’s still millions of people with you or you’re forced to get political later when there’s not - and it’s too late.

No kings day. Tomorrow.

Before tonight, just a friendly reminder that clowning is super fun, but if Taylor doesn’t announce something we made up in our heads, that’s not her fault!! Of course if something happens, that’s awesome!! But if it doesn’t, that’s also ok! 🫶🫶

To carry 50,000 people per hour in each direction, a city needs a 175m wide road for cars.

Even if those cars are electric.

And then there’s all the parking.

OR a city can move A LOT MORE people in a lot less space, with A LOT LESS public money and pollution.

Congrats to all Republicans and 16 Democrats for passing the Bribing The President Is Legal Now Act.

A cool side effect of this bill is it makes it considerably easier for your kid to buy fentanyl-laced narcotics from a new class of predators on Minecraft, also likely created by this bill.
Democrats who voted for the GENIUS Act stablecoin bill: Alsobrooks (MD), Blunt Rochester (DE), Booker (NJ), Cortez Masto (NV), Fetterman (PA), Gallego (AZ), Gillibrand (NY), Hassan (NH), Heinrich (NM), Lujan (NM), Ossoff (GA), Padilla (CA), Rosen (NV), Schiff (CA), Slotkin (MI), Warner (VA)

60% of American households can’t afford a minimal quality of life.

Meanwhile, the 19 richest households saw their wealth increase by $1 trillion in 2024 — the biggest one-year increase ever.

Our problem isn't a lack of resources.

Our problem is ever-expanding inequality.

How about the working class against the oligarchy?

The upward redistribution of wealth over the past 50 years has shifted $80 trillion from the bottom 90% of Americans to the top 1%.

This is the real fight we need to be talking about.
