So did they up the incentive/pressure for these people to quit?
WAPO: More than 40,000 people have accepted the deferred resignation offer from OMB and it’s growing.

🧵🪡 on why the L will never succeed in making change, based on local observations on my local subreddit…

Someone makes thread asking about tomorrow’s potential protest. Unsure about details/organizers/etc. Someone recommends forming local protest instead. OP then asks what they should protest. 1/

RFK won’t affirm that healthcare is a human right. That’s all you need to know.

What to do with a kid who is 5 but reading at a 3rd grade level? I’m trying to work on comprehension with him and more depth (like parts of speech)… but I don’t think he’s enjoying that. Do I just let him read anything and everything he wants without worrying about the rest?

When your kid’s therapist describes his current progress as a “u-turn” it’s quite confronting and hard not to feel like you’ve failed as a parent.

And cue the NYE fireworks that will inevitably drive my dogs nuts and keep my kids awake.

Why people, why?

Stop Using my Children to Scare Parents out of Vaccinating
It was never my intention in life to become a vaccine advocate. I have to do enough just advocating for my kids, as two of three are on varying degrees of the autism spectrum. Multiple times a year we...

The fact that norovirus cases are higher than they’ve been in a decade is giving me great anxiety.

But did you know you can now buy barf bags with pretty designs?

Celebrated the first night of Hanukkah last night. A good reminder that we can all brighten the world, even if just a little bit.

Husband and I are both sick- upper respiratory crud. Kids have no symptoms of anything. Multiple - RATs btwn husband and myself and a - metrix 5 days into symptoms so confident it’s not Covid. But what other illness do little kids tend to not show symptoms of? No way they didn’t get our germs.

Well here’s a first for me. Didn’t get to drink my coffee because my kid put his foot in it. He said it was an “accident”.

It’s shit that United would cut (more benefits), but ABA is a highly problematic and controversial therapy.

And now for all the comments about how ABA isn’t “what it used to be”… well then change the name?
NEW: After reviewing leaked documents, we have found UnitedHealth is strategically limiting access to a treatment for thousands of children with autism across the country in order to cut costs.

Advocates say the company’s strategy may be illegal.

Husband: “Take the morning for yourself. I’ll take the kids.”
8:30 AM: (5) completely dysregulated and needs me. I help with all his morning tasks. (3.5) sitting on me on couch
9:00 AM: laundry started; last load folded.
9:25 AM: realization that my morning to “myself” is, in fact, not to myself. 🫤

It’s 8:30 AM and 5 has already insisted on educating me about bioluminescent fish and black holes. I, of course, contributed nothing to the conversation.

Well Thanksgiving cooking is off to a great start 😂😂
November 27, 2024 at 5:52 PM
I used to love Thanksgiving. In 2020 I was disappointed that we couldn’t gather. Each subsequent year I’ve grown to dread the holiday. My little family was pretty much abandoned by those who refused to take c-19 precautions starting in 2021. I’m thankful for my family, but it’s now lonely holiday.

The irony of the ADHD person having to find a pharmacy in network with insurance that can source their ADHD meds and then have to make multiple phone calls to prescriber to send new rx bc old one is at a pharmacy that can’t get meds and blahblahblah. My brain hurts.

Hey @drawstickpeople.bsky.social are we doing #flowerfriday over here?! No flowers from me this week, but some fall foliage from a nature walk yesterday!

Was wondering why parenting felt extra hard today. Then saw my kid’s ADHD meds from this morning sitting next to his water bottle.

There’s a hand hygiene thread in a toddler subreddit I’m still subscribed too. And all I can say is ew. People really don’t wash their/their kids’ hands?

When you’re overstimulated bc you’re solo parenting while your significant other is traveling for “work” and your kid picks literally the world’s crunchiest and loudest snack.
