It has been 50 years since the fall of Saigon and this is a good article about it and how the U.S. gov tried to spin the news and how the AP dealt with the pressure much like they are doing now under the trump administration which has barred them from press briefings

This is precisely what many of us older people on the spectrum, respond with to claims that #Autism rates have been skyrocketing. It's not that more kids are Autistic now, it's that the diagnostic criteria has greatly changed. I didn't fit criteria back in the 70s/80s, I do now though.
