Labor disputes definitely show you people's true values and priorities. When they show us who they actually are we should never forget it.

Very true, and we need more spaces for these conversations to happen without having to deal with the bad faith critiques. Because unions could be so much better and we need them to be.

Also the middle manager problem -- they are a big part of the workforce and don't fit well within the current labor-management system. Those that own the means of production know how to use them as middlemen but I would be interested in how we can organize them to be more pro-labor.

I think we need to be having hard conversations within the labor movement about how unions are structured and the ways we can improve. I think increased democracy and more distributed leadership could make us more rank-and-file focused and better equip members to respond to attacks on-the-ground.

I wonder how much political capital union leaders have actually been spending on the issue though…
