Praying for UMC clergy kin Hannah Kardon- violently arrested by Illinois State Police during a peaceful protest. “… if they are willing to beat me, an old Pastor Mom, with a stick and drag me on the ground in broad daylight, what are they willing to do to detainees inside the Broadview facility?”

A true inspiration- My 78 year old mom is a retired public school teacher. She continues to work in a local public school as a classroom assistant. After school today she went to a protest and held a sign, “Save our public schools.” Let’s get moving people. Call. Protest. Speak up.

I support public education and I’m working to defend, advocate and learn more in response to our constitutional crisis. My parents were teachers, I attended a rural public school, and I’m active in my local high school community. Tell me your stories re: public schools. Help me learn more.

President Trump is firing American workers who monitor bird flu outbreaks, safeguard nuclear facilities, and now those who promote American history in Dorchester – all to help pay for tax breaks for billionaires and giant corporations.
JFK Library in Dorchester temporarily closed due to workers' ‘sudden dismissal.’ National Archives says it will reopen Wednesday - The Boston Globe
“The sudden dismissal of federal employees at the JFK Library forced the museum to close today,” the JFK Library Foundation said in a statement.

Listening to ‘The Gospel Truth’ - Susan Werner, a favorite album, to renew and remember the challenging, beautiful chord of lived faith and action. And yes- I’ll be attending her upcoming show at my local arts center. Live music is good for the soul!

My office is hearing reports that the Trump administration’s purges include firing veterans who have served our country for years.

Our veterans deserve better.

If you've been impacted, call congress: (202) 224-3121

And share your story:

When the very institutions that provided safety, education, and health are under attack, we need to put our love into acts of resistance.

There can be no sitting on the sidelines.

What will your acts of love look like in public? How will you help return love to the public square?

What’s sustaining your spirit and renewing your hope? Taizé Saturday evening prayer- in my time zone, afternoon prayer, is one way I’m staying in communion and holding hope. I love the sung prayers in multiple languages, the silence, the passing of candle light and readings. What about you?

Since Trump is busy unilaterally renaming bodies of water down south, thought we’d get started up in New England.

How’s this?
