This week I visited Wythenshawe Community Housing Group to see their work as part of the MCC Economic Inactivity Trailblazer. The project provides support from community-based health & employment support services to help residents into employment.

A new fairer, simpler fare system will come in across our 96 stations.

🐝 Singles will be half the price of returns
🐝 Tickets will be valid on any operator

I attended a Jobsfair at Powerhouse earlier today organised by @mancitycouncil.bsky.social Work and Skills and DWP with lots of employers in attendance and other services like Smart Workswho provide clothes for women for job interviews. A very busy, positive event. @hacking4chorlton.bsky.social

PCS members working for the Civil Aviation Authority will strike tomorrow for an additional day in an escalation of a dispute over pay.

After 3 #PCS reps were fired by HMRC in 2024, there has been a campaign to reinstate them, resulting in an 8-week strike, which began on 23 December. This is now to be extended until 14 March.
