It...might not be in your best interest lol, I do not even know what is happening with this game.

Even on the first comment.

Also I think it’s important to disambiguate “public figure” as in entertainer from a “public figure” as in government official who is answer-able to the public in a more formal way.

If someone gets a LOT of comments or replies etc. it might be impractical to keep tabs on when a behavior becomes a “pattern” for that person.

Conversely, there are “patterns” of commenting behavior that show up in enough different people that recognizing one of the bad ones could well be enough.

Not the issue. Using singular "they/them" to refer to someone whose pronouns are explicitly she/her is the issue there.

Same energy as the people who they/them people whose pronouns are explicitly not that and call it an improvement tbh.

8) People need food (and non-food household and hygiene goods and HELP) all year!

There are probably specific times when need is greater in your community (summer when free school meals aren't available? economic downturns after local seasonal business seasons are over?) - get to know them.

7) If you are the kind of father who wants to hand out food with your kid to "help" the "poor", but you won't do any of the cooking or the dishes in your own household?

The saying "charity begins at home" exists for a reason but that's more like Decent Human-ing begins at home.

Don't be that guy.

6) Don't use seasonal gifts (including to your less-well-off family members) as a method to evangelize, and I don't just mean about religion.

Don't push your specific flavor of religion, of course, but also don't push your dietary choices, or your career or relationship or child-rearing advice!

A lot of people into "holiday giving for the less fortunate" love to buy for little kids, a slightly different group of people love to buy for teenage girls and for moms, the dads and teenage boys get very very ignored or their gift requests get mocked, and can we please NOT with that? It's mean!

5) If you actually want to help, focus on where need is, not where "cute" is.

I've done angel trees for local organizations that serve youth in foster care and TEENAGE BOYS DESERVE CHRISTMAS TOO, damn it, but they are often the last ones to get picked off of the trees and it's really frustrating.

If they need you sorting edible veggies from only-fit-for-compost, or unpacking pallets, or making coffee, or directing parking, and there is not a personal limitation that makes it inadvisable for you to do THAT SPECIFIC task, then you do it.

Or you go home and stop taking up "volunteer" space.

4) Don't argue with volunteer coordinators about what work needs doing at a volunteer day unless your issue is like "I physically cannot do [specifc thing], is there something within my capacity that I can do for you instead?"

DO NOT WHINE about not getting to play with the kids or pet the puppies.
