This deal to reopen the government is fucking disgraceful.

Tens of millions will lose their healthcare. Trump will be emboldened.

This is exactly what’s wrong with Democratic Party leadership and why we need more people in Congress who will actually hold the line.

You have a right to call any senator not just your own.

Call every day. Ok to call off hours and blow up their VM.

Skip the switchboard and dial them direct.

Anyway a great way to radicalize people is for them to realize that you just abandoned their chance at being able to access and afford health care because you didn’t like waiting in line at the airport.

This story is infinitely more important than GTA getting delayed. Don't let me catch you moaning about waiting longer for a video game if you're not mad about why it happened.

So a long time ago, I used to play in a band that toured and released albums and such. My old bandmate surprised us by finishing our final album that we recorded over a decade ago, so I thought I'd share it here as we no longer have any actual fans newcenturyclassics.bandcamp.com/album/bearin...

Honestly there is no surer sign that politicians like Mamdani actually have a shot at reversing the massive and growing plague of income inequality than the way the billionaire class is absolutely shitting its pants right now.

Their fear gives me hope change is actually possible! More Mamdanis now!
every most evil person is coming out of the woodworks to try and stop zohran mamdani from winning, his victory will be so delicious watching the meltdowns

I decided a few months ago to spend less time on social media and invest in real (touchable) media. No regrets so far, and a quality of life improvement as I now have an excuse to have a leisurely morning coffee

Apropos of nothing, this piece by @anildash.com is very, very good (and accurately reflects my views and those of many of my colleagues)

A stat we don't talk about enough: Newspapers have lost 77% of their jobs over the last 20 year, more than any of the 532 other industries tracked by the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

Food insecurity is ALWAYS a political choice. Famine is ALWAYS manmade. People go hungry because of other people’s decisions. We have more than enough food for everyone, and enormous amounts of it are wasted—literally thrown in the garbage—on purpose.

You know who the real freeloaders in this country are? Not people who rely on SNAP, but corporations whose business model depends on wages so low that taxpayers have to feed their workers.

If I were running the DNC, there would be Democratic Party sponsored food relief banks across the country right now that specifically welcomed anyone regardless of party affiliation.

Along with the food, there could be voter registration and links to runforsomething.net
