@thetimes.com Edwina Currie needs to get her facts right on resident doctor pay. She says they are paid less than nurses, actually not true. There are nurses who are paid more than doctors (not all). PAs also paid more than many doctors. Most patients will see resident Drs when in hospital. @bma

Feeling blessed that I had a wonderful day celebrating with my family yesterday. Today a lazy breakfast with mum, a long walk, coffee then finished a great book with a slice of Christmas cake. Catching up on TV tonight with cold turkey and chutney. Lovely Boxing Day!

#IBD #Transition clinic today between UHNM and MCFT. Mixture of pride, sadness and satisfaction for most of the patients I have managed from diagnosis in childhood to mostly well grown independent adults. Process isn’t perfect, and always things to learn, but despite dreadful IT issues a good clinic

We evaluated some commercially available lateral flow antigen tests designed to detect Monkeypox virus in people with suspected Mpox disease. They are not very good, and a negative test result posses a high risk of false reassurance. doi.org/10.1101/2024... . Doing this require huge team work.
