President Trump inherited an economy that was, by most conventional measures, firing on all cylinders. Just weeks into his term, economic forecasts have deteriorated, reflecting the upheaval from federal layoffs, tariff moves and immigration roundups. nyti.ms/43sbBz5

Several May-like waves of warmth will ride across the country through next week, during which around 170 million people across more than 30 states can expect temperatures to reach higher than 70 degrees, as far north as South Dakota.
It will soon feel more like May than March in many parts of the United States
Temperatures are forecast to exceed 70 degrees in more than 30 states next week. And while the East basks in warmth, the West will generally be cooler, especially when a late-week storm moves in.

Really wish people would stop talking about the problem with Science under Trump as “budget cuts”.

No. Budgets are set deliberatively by elected members of congress. Budgets haven’t been cut.

What’s happening are *purges* and *censorship*.

Let's debunk this whole "space is hard" mantra.

Looking at all NASA-led missions launched since 2000, only 4 out of ~60 missions experienced total failures.

Two of these were due to issues with the commercial launch vehicle, & two were spacecraft issues.

That is a *93% success rate.* (1/n)

Yay!! A federal judge in California sided with a coalition of unions, temporarily barring the Office of Personnel Management from ordering federal agencies to terminate probationary workers, stating that the firings were ‘illegal, should be stopped, and rescinded.’

NOAA is an absolute mess, and it’ll be worse tomorrow. Please help us. There have already been over 1,000 terminations. It’s not just layoffs—Elon Musk and his staffers are trying to completely dismantle us. Today, there were tons of firings, and more are coming tomorrow.

Hell yeah bring back those buttons
Next year, the EU will require cars to have buttons & dials -- not just touchscreens -- to get a top safety rating.

This is a great move. Drivers can fiddle with knobs & buttons without taking their eyes off the road, but they can't do that with touchscreens.

(Even better: Tesla will hate this)
Cars will need fewer screens and more buttons to earn five-star safety rating in Europe
Euro NCAP will release new testing guidelines in 2026.
