and--idk quite how to articulate this--but the work of it is... critical to art-making. like you discover your intentions through the labor of expressing them. if I'd woken up at 17 with the technical ability to write a novel, i wouldn't have known what i was trying to say. the work IS the product.

I spent at least an hour brainstorming various names for a Martian town based on Ray Bradbury's name only to discover the place where Curiosity Rover landed, the place where I want to set my town, is called Bradbury Landing. #amwriting

Both of my sons loved playing Undertale. After the younger passed away a year and a half ago, whenever I miss him, I play the Undertale soundtrack and remember his struggle with Undine or his dancing to Megalovania.
Hello.

It's almost been 10 years since UNDERTALE released.

Now, I'm looking for your memories.

Let's turn back together.

I found this post super useful because it BOTH had a reminder AND a link 😂 If you are a Worldcon member and have not yet voted on the Hugo Awards, you still have time, but not for much longer! (Voting ends at midnight Pacific time.)
Today's your last day to vote on this year's Hugo Awards.

This year, more than any other year, we'd appreciate your vote.

Tell folks you appreciated their loved one that passed. It makes the grief less lonely, particularly years later when it becomes easy to think you’re the only one who remembers them. It will not make us sad, or at least not in a bad way.
A friend randomly texted me today to let me know she & her neighbors were talking about a lecture my mom gave their neighborhood association 5 years ago & how it was one of the best meetings they ever had. My friend almost didn’t tell me in case talking about my mom, who passed in 2022, made me sad.

"We Will Teach You How to Read | We Will Teach You How to Read" is one of the best stories I've ever read. It's one of only a very few stories that I would give a 10/10. (Yes, I'm very stingy with 10/10s.) At the very least, please make sure to read it! www.lightspeedmagazine.com/fiction/we-w...
