I needed to get out of the house today, so Dalton took me to the Sacramento Zoo to see the baby Capybaras.
Rocket passed away this morning with the assistance of Lap of Love. He was a few months shy of 12 years old.
It was such a hard decision to make, but his cancer and weight loss were aggressive, and he was having more bad days than good ones. I couldn't watch my sweet little man suffer any more.

Not bad for a first session back in a while. I've barely been able to get out of bed for the last two weeks, let alone get 1.5 hours of cardio in.

Who needs a heating pad for cramps when cats exist? 🥺
He's hanging in there. His weight loss has slowed down, but he's still lost another 3oz in the last week, despite eating fairly consistently. I give him breakfast, lots of treats, free-fed kibble, and dinner. I don't know what else to do.

Sometimes, I think that auto-generated alt text would be an awesome, ethical use of AI, but then I'm reminded that AI can't communicate context or nuance.

Oh whoops. I forgot to eat today because I painted the wall, installed a new vanity light (and added a wireless receiver to it so it has a wall switch), and replaced the medicine cabinet.
Next weekend, I'm going to prep and paint the drywall on the other side of the room, and replace the flooring.

I don't think he's going to make it past this week. He threw up his meds and refused to eat dinner tonight. I got him to (very slowly) eat a churu, but I can tell he's in a lot of pain 😭

Take a look at the plate pattern again. The two halves of the plate don't match, and there are inconsistencies between the larger shapes. The stools in the background are also throwing nonsense shadows.
And some of the thumbnails on the desktop have extensions while others don't.

They found two masses. The first one is in his small intestines, and the other in his large intestines. Surgery would be high-risk, and would cause him a lot of pain for the rest of his life.
His care team and I have decided that the most humane approach is palliative care. 😞
