All the talk about how cops are allowed to be cowards is bringing up a lot of trauma from a few months ago.

Cops woke me up at 3am by banging on my door and shining a flashlight through my windows, telling me a suspect was on the loose in my neighborhood.

CalTrans lifted the chain requirements for where I'm trying to get to tomorrow 🥹
I need to frolic this weekend, but I also think that I need tire chains to effectively do so.

After putting it down at 90% complete for over a year, I finally finished Fourth Wing... And the final chapter (from the male love interest's POV) gave me such an intense ick that I think I'm just gonna go back to queer fiction for a while.

If you need ChatGPT for any of these things, you are less capable of taking care of yourself than a 10 year-old.

Ken sums up exactly why I rarely doompost here, and avoid replying with doomerism to anyone online.

We're all feeling a lot of anxiety about the world right now, and all the doom and gloom comes with a lot of splash damage and friendly fire.
It's totally understandable if you're dooming about any facet of the American experiment right now. So your feelings are "valid" in the sense that they represent real anxiety, and I get that. But to vent that anxiety in other people's spaces is wrong for three reasons.

It's so fucking convenient that they get to "fear for their lives" anytime they want to absolve themselves of anything and when we actually fear for our lives because of them and do anything a scared person would do it's justification for our death.

one of the things i hate most about this persistent line of argument is the implication that any of these actions would be fine if groceries were cheaper
The White House is laser focused on threatening a military takeover of Greenland.

Where’s the same focus on lowering costs?

I'm convinced that the Tahoe icons are a PsyOp by Apple to convince designers to stop putting icons next to everything.

I needed a few minutes after work to stare at the ceiling, so I laid down on my couch with a heated blanket, and Kaylee hasn't let me move for two hours. Send help. I'm so hungry.

I want the roast beef melt that I've been thinking about making all day. The ingredients are in the kitchen.

It's so rude that my favorite park up in the mountains just got their first snow of the season the same day I had to go back to work.

It's always the books that claim to be ✨ fast-paced, hilarious, full of quirky humor, charm and heart ✨ that make me so uncomfortably sad that I want to throw up.

I've been trying to figure out what kind of color pattern she has, since I've never seen a cat like her.

I think that she's a very rare dilute tabico (calico tri-color markings with tabby stripes).

The blue eyes definitely come from being predominantly white, and she's lucky to not be deaf.

Y'all... I think I have three cats again 🫠. I still have her quarantined from my other two cats until I can have my vet check her out, but Percy is just the biggest lovebug I've ever met.

look at some point you gotta face the fact that not everything is a distraction from everything else and there’s just a lot of bad stuff going on all the time
Schumer: "It makes you think that maybe to Trump he wants to distract the American people, as he always does, from the skyrocketing costs they are facing, from the Epstein files."

... What the fuck did I wake up to? Holy shit.

Well, scrolling and posting isn't going to change or make anything better, so I'm gonna uninstall Bluesky, message my representatives, and focus on getting ready to go back to work on Monday 😰
