I’ve started bringing some binoculars and looking at birds. I’ve learned there is a Cooper’s Hawk that lives in the brush behind my neighborhood, that there are some delightful little red House Finches all over, and that the Crows think my bike is funny.

I’m the only one in my area riding a Bakfiet and I’ve found that I am given so much more respect and space. I don’t know if it’s the size or the “wtf is that” factor, but I’ll take it!

I need to post a photo of my bike parked at my local brewery- it’s pretty hilarious. Especially when you see the parking afforded to cars
