I play a lot of classic video games and complain about capitalism, usually not in the same post.

I'm almost sure that Tim Fallin imagined a much better game when it came to Silver Surfer, which is the coolest idea for a video game conceivable at the time. Pictionary doesn't make any sense, whatsoever, but at least with Silver Surfer, there was a good concept to make music over.

He's such a creative. If he had put all of his creative juice towards physics, we'd have a new theory of everything.

2/] If unchecked, monetary interests will find ever more new and efficient ways to sap the rights of the worker. This is just the latest example. Before, wealth had to interact with worker (artist) interests—generative AI circumvents that, violently.

2/] I just tend to be a sucker for early, primitive RPGs. I love the early DQ games, and the first Est/Lufia always felt like, to me, an early DQ game with a cinematic plot, like I was playing an interactive anime OVA from the late eighties. Played with the second game, both complete an experience.

The music and sound design are wonderful, I almost like the sound effects better in 1. Also, aside from the Final Fantasy games, the entire intro sequence leading up to the first time you leave the opening town, Alekia, was the most cinematic game I'd ever played in my life. The story is amazing.

It's going to sound weird, but I have always kind of liked the first Lufia/Estpolis Denki before the second, but this is mostly nostalgia. The original was the very first jRPG I ever fell in love with. Both are amazing games though, and gameplay-wise, the second, of course, has more of everything.

That's amazing. I knew there had to be an inspiration or connection somewhere—the aesthetic of both Landstalker and Ladystalker are very visible in PopoloCrois, almost like it's a spiritual successor of sorts (see Alundra, although Alundra isn't isometric)

2/] Regulations can only do so much—parents must be aware of the power that corporate greed has over the kids of tomorrow, and they need to raise their children with a want and need for knowledge. We cannot let #technocapitalism stupefy our children. It's already happening. #SocialismNow #Socialism

2/] Also, the game feels like, at least in general aesthetic, the classic Sega Genesis/Mega Drive game LandStalker: The Treasures of King Nole. When I was a kid, that game blew my mind with the sense of depth and proportion, the climbing of tall mountains and the descent into dungeons felt visceral.

You guys are amazing! Been a fan since I was a kid—I might have been one of the only superfans of the SNES game Vortex, at least the only one I knew. As a programmer, I love seeing people do amazing things on limited hardware. It's inspiring.
