The High Elf King and Dwarf King are seen having a friendly walk, when the Elf King spots his daughter, Eve, in visible distress: "Are you well, daughter?" Asked the worried father. "Yes, father. But my back has been aching a lot lately." Answered the elf princess.

The Elf King turned his attention to his old Dwarf friend and teased: "Hear that, my old Dwarf friend? My daughter's body aches from constantly slaying Dragons and Balrogs! What about your daughter??" Mocked the Elf.

But once his attention returned to his daughter, she was suddenly leaning forward to kiss a dwarf girl... The daughter of the Dwarf King, his old friend. Witnessing the scene, the Dwarf King couldn't help but laugh: "Hahaha! Well, my daughter is the real reason for your daughter's back pains!", as the elf girl struggled to lean forward to kiss her short girlfriend: "Hi babe!" Said the dwarf girl, to the response of the sore elf: "Hi! Ow ow!". Maybe our Elf girl should develop a new kissing technique to save her spine....

Elf x Dwarf

Two elf girls are passing by a seemingly recurring scenario of an Elf girl picking on a Dwarf girl: "Eve is picking on the Dwarf girl again", chuckles one of the elves.

The elf girl, Eve, is seen grabbing a sheet of paper off the hands of a Dwarf girl. Said paper would be placed at the branches of the Love Tree, a magic place that grants anyone their wishes... But our dwarf friend, struggling to hang her wish on the Tree, caught the attention of the mean elf girl: "Aww, what's wrong, cute little dwarf? Can't hang your wish on the Love Tree?" Laughed the elf. "Let me see your wish", said Eve.

But to Eve's surprise, the Dwarf girl could see right through her teasing, as the wish clearly stated: "I THINK EVE LIKES ME. I WISH WE COULD BE LOVERS", accompanied by a portrait of the elf.

Completely flustered and blushing, the elf, surprised and happy with what she saw, placed the dwarf girl's wish on the magic Tree: "N-nevermind! I'll hang your wish for you! Hehehe, I'm sure It'll come true!!!" Said the blushing elf, to the agreement of the flustered Dwarf: "Y-yeah!"

An epic battle between a heroine and a powerful goddess is happening. The battle now lasts for 3 days nonstop, until the goddess manages to get a grab of the woman warrior with her tentacles: "Foolish heroine! I, The Goddess of Darkness, will suffocate you to death!!!" Said the dark deity, triumphantly. "Any last wor--" but before she could finish her sentence, the heroine had a quite unusual response to being squeezed by the deity's tentacles... "Aahnn harder!" Uttered the mortal woman, unprompted.

The two women looked at each other with a great mix of confusion and awkwardness, but also a barrier might've been broken...

Years passes and the two enemies are now married and with a demigod daughter. The woman warrior, snuggling with the former evil goddess, then reveals to the young woman: "And that's how I met your mom, sweetie!", to an awkward "Oh." as response. And they lived happily ever after.

You love mosquitos, right? Yes, you do! What if they were bigger?

[ #DenizensOfTheSunken is a monster design project detailing the creatures that live in the fictional island of St. Apnea, a tropical disaster zone located in a crater deep below sea level.]

There are three monsters, all akin to the developmental stages of a mosquito. The first is named Stygit, and is a blue mosquito larva with a hand at the end of its abdomen. The second is Tantambre, a mosquito pupa with the hand from its previous form fused onto its face. Its eye is bloodshot and stares at the viewer. The final stage is Chirurge, a large mosquito with no legs, but two hands. The first hand is made up of its needle-like proboscis, which splits into five at the end. The second hand is at the end of its abdomen, which appears red and engorged with blood.

Data log on Stygit, the Waveless Waver. Its description reads: "Do not be alarmed if you see human hands inside a stagnant pond. In 94% of cases these 'hands' are merely the abdomens of larvae breathing through their five snorkels. A Stygit eats its own weight in detritus every day, but isn't dangerous in any way. Not yet."

Data log on Tantambre, the Starving Pupa. Its description reads: "When this Denizen pupates, the hand on its abdomen fuses to its face. A Tantambre cannot eat, and can only barely move. Its eyes, however, remain keen. It stares out from the water, identifying prey to track in the future."

Data log on Chirurge, the Gorging Surgeon. Its description reads: "Using its abdominal hand as a tourniquet and its five segmented mouthparts as surgical tools, it expertly extracts blood from its patient-meals without them feeling even a single pinprick. Pain may be preferable- you might run out of blood before you notice."

Good morning.
I woke up to news from the forums.
The #ffxiv did in fact try to implement natural curls but had trouble. they won't give up on trying to make textured hair work

Just knowing they won't give up on trying to make curly hair makes me glad.
I was afraid they would stop trying after this.

パッチ7.1で実装予定の髪型について、多数のフィードバックをお寄せいただき、ありがとうございます。
また、大きく混乱を招いてしまい申し訳ありません。

今回のパッチでは、ストレートヘアだけでなく、様々な髪型を増やしたいという考えの元、
髪型デザインコンテストの入賞作品の中から「Natural Curls」を実装すべく作業を開始しました。

しかしながら、開発作業を進めるにつれ、Natural Curlsに求められる軽やかで繊細な、ボリュームのあるカールを表現するには、
グラフィックスアップデートを行ったFFXIVであっても、ポリゴン数等の制約が障壁となり、完璧な実装には至りませんでした。
そのため、今回の髪型はNatural Curlsとしての実装ではなく、「ウェイビーボブ」ヘアスタイルとして実装されております。
（ゲーム内の髪型の名称もそのようになっています）

ただし、開発工程において、入賞作品を参考にしたことは事実であることから、パッチノートにはその旨の記載を行いました。
これにより、結果として大きな混乱や心配を生んでしまったことは、たいへん申し訳なく思います。

今回は実現が叶いませんでしたが、今後も開発チームでは、多くの髪型を実装できるよう努めて参ります。
パッチ7.1では実装断念となったNatural Curlsについても、別手法での実装方法が無いか、
粘り強くこれからも検討は続けていくつもりです。

多数のフィードバック、ありがとうございます。引き続きFFXIVをお楽しみください！

Hello.

Thank you for all your feedback on the hairstyle that will be implemented in Patch 7.1. We would like to apologize for the major confusion we have caused.

For this patch, we started work to implement "Natural Curls" from the winning entries of the Hairstyle Design Contest, based on the idea of adding not only straight hair but also a variety of other hairstyles.

However, as the development work progressed, the light, delicate, and voluminous curls required for Natural Curls could not be implemented perfectly, despite implementation of the recent graphical update in FFXIV, due to limitations such as the polygon count.

Therefore, the finished result is a hairstyle that has not been implemented as Natural Curls, but as a wavy bob hairstyle, which is called "Doing the Wave" in-game.

However, since we did use the winning entry as a reference in the development process, we included a statement to that effect in the patch notes. We are deeply sorry that this has resulted in a great deal of confusion and concern.

Although we were not able to make it happen this time, the development team will continue to strive to implement many more hairstyles in the future. As for Natural Curls, which was not implemented in Patch 7.1, we will persevere in our efforts to look for other ways to implement this hairstyle.

We appreciate your feedback and hope you continue to enjoy FFXIV!
