Cat lover. Short story writer. Non-binary (any pronouns work).
I wonder what it's like when your biggest problem in life is that Lupita Nyong'o is playing Helen of Troy.

One of the first things I've discovered when playing Civilization VI is that scouts can pet their dogs. Nice! One of the first things I've discovered when playing Strange Horticulture is that the note about the cat is not there for no reason, you can pet the cat, and the cat purrs. Pattern? 😸

The game I played most during the holidays was Tavern Master. A medieval tavern management game, simple yet addictive. And then a fellow author (who works in the gaming industry now) told me that the studio that made it, Untitled Studio, is from our country. And that he's met them and they're cool.

Last night I've finished Yellowface by R.F. Kuang, and lol. What a ride. Highly entertaining, especially if you're a writer, or work in the publishing industry. Okay, considering the portrayal of the publishing industry, perhaps not everyone working there would find it as fun as I did.

Recently read Hamlet, Prince of Robots by @darusha.ca. I saw scenes and acts, expected a gimmick, and got something that's so much more. Fun. Clever. Touching. Playful. Loved it. Plus it was awesome to read another non-binary author.

Goodreads was acquired by Amazon in 2013, which basically means it’s owned by Jeff Bezos.

The subtle lesson? You can’t get away from them without turning yourself into a hermit.

Make choices based on your needs, not their moves. Do your best to look out for yourself and others. Live your life.

Now this is interesting...
Hey if you need a pointer towards the costs of AI:
www.euronews.com/green/2023/0...
Every question costs 10-25mL of water. That's a glass of water wasted every time one asks the AI a question.
AI chatbots are guzzling thousands of litres of water, study warns
There is still very little research into the environmental impact of AI.

I used to joke that most of my short fiction was about food, death or family- this one is actually my story that's about all three. I still love it very much.

Get your books (and ebooks) from indie presses! At this rate pretty soon they'll be the only place to get beautiful words written by humans for humans
Hello!
In case no one told you, Harper Collins is demanding that their staff train AI with their authors' works without author consent.
But guess what?
They aren't the only publisher doing this.
I know of at least two more!
