If we interacted in the past, you should have no problem associating an identity. DM if unsure.

Unpopular opinion: here's how to fix the modern world.
1)Find the closest living relative of the Hohenstaufen dynasty
2)make them Emperor
3)Surrender half the nuclear arsenal to them and the other half to Pope Leo
4)Choose whether you want to be a Guelph or a Ghibelline and be loyal to your faction.

In 2026 laptop Nvidia GPUs can still power off in a buggy power saving state and disappear from lspci. I've been unfairly blaming the kernel update for 2 days.

Are we trusting the right hardware company with multi-billion dollars investments, when they can't fix a bug first identified 15 years ago?

Proof that organized crime got things right: a guy gave my number to another guy, without any prior meeting on neutral grounds, nor background check.

The second guy is one of those AI prophets detached from reality, who wants advices that must conform to his prior biases.

Does anyone have a recommendation for an Android TV dongle that is 1) not vendor locked, 2) can be powered by a TV usb without data loss, 3) can work entirely offline, 4) with CEC, and 5) preferably 4K?

The use case is mainly streaming over LAN, with no internet access.

Oh no! Who would have guessed that?
This study is over 6 months old but it still resonates. AI tools can feel more productive but devs tend to ignore the time spent prompting, waiting for results and refining.

Claude Code took 10 minutes to summarize my unread chats and email today. It would have been faster by hand.
Using AI might actually slow down experienced devs

Most important paper of my career got rejected after a year of limbo, and 4 days before the PhD defense, half of which is based on that paper.
Of course there's the usual game:
Reviewer 1: major revision/resubmission
Reviewer 2: accept with minor comments
Reviewer 3: didn't understand. Clear reject

Opinion: you cannot sell fluoridric acid to random citizens with no safety training.

I finally discovered why I got corroded sinks at my parents'. I am not happy with how they dismiss chemical safety. I hope the inconvenience of a flooded bathroom can teach them what commonsense couldn't.

Tempo determinato.

I don't remember who proposed teacher-student distillation first, but I believe the AI team at Google has used the technique extensively.

Of course this overall waste of energy could have been avoided if they shared the models in the first place.

Was it ethical? 1/

Guess what will go wrong tomorrow.

The mead is "ready" (between the random amount of honey and low temperature, can't say fermentation has really stopped, or simply slowed down, probably the latter).
Lost almost a half of it attempting to clear it up.

I've been waiting for 2 months.
It won't last 3 days, probably...

Almost 15 years of working with computers, and I still don't get lambda calculus.

Funny thing is, I can use anonymous functions and basic functional programming just fine.

Made the big step. Hard reset on the pull request, delete fork and "So long and thanks for all the fish".

At least they thanked me for the effort, even though they still don't get that the problem was not "It's ugly", but lack of proper engineering principles and respect for other people's time.

#andavadetto.

Cold crashing gone wrong. I guess at least now I have an alcoholic honey sherbet.

Added gelatin for fining anyway, so that it will be upgraded to alcoholic honey jello in a couple of days.
