The river at dusk. #Chicago #photography
A photo of the Chicago River looking east as dusk falls. The city invested heavily in building and maintaining public paces along the River Walk and it truly shows. The banks are lined with parkettes and areas for people to wander and relax. Lined with great examples of architectural styles from across the history of the city, the Chicago River Architecture boat tour is a must. The river and its many bridges also create lovely scenes throughout the day, but my favourite is dusk. It’s when the lights shimmer like jewels against the deepening blue sky and black waters of the river. I always think that the reflected river light remind me of an impressionist painting contrasted with the hard edged modernist buildings.
