This is an incredible image of comet 3I/ATLAS, taken by Satoru Murata ICQ Comet Observations group on 16 November 2025 from western New Mexico.

Structure within the major dust tail from the comet is clearly visible, together with two smaller jets trailing the nucleus and maybe even an anti-tail.

The tornado killed 27 people, including around a dozen children. There is debate surrounding the degree of damage, as it may have been exacerbated by the F5'a slow speed.

The parent supercell (which moved SW) produced numerous other damaging tornadoes, including an F3 and F4 near Austin.

An F5 produced some of the most extreme tornadic damage ever seen. The incredibly violent wedge slammed the Double Creek Estates subdivision of Jarrell, TX. Much of the neighborhood was obliterated with little debris & deep ground scouring left behind.
